Dalton Kincaid injury update: Bills TE hurts hamstring vs. Dolphins

NFL midseason superlatives: The biggest busts so far

USA TODAY Sports’ Joe Rivera and Chris Bumbaca dish out which players, coaches, and teams have been the biggest letdowns so far.

The Buffalo Bills will have to play the rest of their Week 10 game without their top pass-catcher.

Tight end Dalton Kincaid appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in the third quarter of the Bills’ Week 10 clash with the Miami Dolphins.

Buffalo initially ruled him questionable to return. Near the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Bills downgraded Kincaid to out for the remainder of the game.

Kincaid entered the matchup leading all Bills pass-catchers in receiving yards (411), receiving touchdowns (4) and 20-plus yard receptions (9) through nine weeks. Prior to his injury, Kincaid was also Buffalo’s receiving leader through two and a half quarters in Week 10 with 37 yards on two catches.

The Bills attempted to add receiving help before last week’s NFL trade deadline. According to a Nov. 9 report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Buffalo offered the Dolphins a first-round pick for star receiver Jaylen Waddle, but Miami declined their offer.

Instead, Buffalo stood pat at the deadline and may be without their top pass-catcher for at least the rest of Week 10. Time will tell if Kincaid’s hamstring injury is severe enough for him to miss more time.

Dalton Kincaid injury update

Kincaid is out of the Bills’ Week 10 game against the Dolphins after sustaining a hamstring injury in the third quarter.

Buffalo’s tight end and top pass-catcher pulled up short and grabbed at the back of his right leg while running a route in Miami. He limped to the sideline after the play. He will not return to the Nov. 9 game after he was spotted heading to the locker room with team trainers after an initial sideline evaluation.

Bills TE depth chart

Buffalo has two other tight ends on their depth chart after losing Kincaid in Week 10.

Knox was a third-round draft pick by the Bills in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $53.6 million extension in 2022, months after he set the Buffalo franchise record for most single-season touchdown catches by a tight end (9).

Hawes is playing his first season as a professional after the Bills selected him with a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Through nine weeks, Hawes has seven catches for 87 yards and a touchdown.
