Ex-Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry tabs Ben Jones as one of his favorite teammates ever

The Tennessee Titans are on their bye week, and things for the most part have been quiet in and around the organization. But just because it’s quiet in Nashville doesn’t mean that there is complete silence.

Former Titans’ great and fan favorite Derrick Henry joined Kevin Clark on his podcast and during the show opened up about his favorite teammates. One of those was former Titans center Ben Jones.

“One of my favorite teammates of all time. The man could have knuckles bleeding, fingers broken, torn meniscus, head ringing, he’s gonna give it 100%.”

Jones entered the league as one of the top center prospects in the 2012 NFL draft and was selected by the Houston Texans in the fourth round to anchor their offensive line. But it wasn’t until he joined the Titans in 2016 that his career would take off.

Jones was the starting center for most of his time in Nashville and helped pave the way for their physical power rushing attack. During his time at the pivot, Henry enjoyed some of the best seasons of his career and racked up some historic numbers.

The Titans released Jones in March 2023, and one could argue that the line has lacked stability ever since his departure. Tennessee’s offensive line has been a significant problem and continues to sit at the heart of the offensive woes over the past few seasons.
