PRINCE GEORGE — Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the Prince George area as well as the Cariboo-Chilcotin, as it warns of strong winds that may cause damage.

The weather agency says wind gusts of up to 90 km/h are possible Sunday (Nov. 9) afternoon until later this evening across Prince George, the Cariboo (including Williams Lake and Quesnel) and the Chilcotin (near Tatlayoko Lake).

“A strong Pacific low pressure system is set to bring strong winds to Central B.C. today,” the warning said. “Winds are expected to peak this afternoon and again late in the evening.”

“While most loose branches and weakened trees have already been knocked down by the previous storms, there is still a possibility of localized utility outages and loose objects being blown away.”
