WLOS — As a cold front moves in, bringing the coldest air of the season, multiple western North Carolina schools and government agencies are closing or going on delays ahead of the winter weather advisory.

- Madison County Schools: Closed/teacher workday
- Mayland Community College: Remote learning day/optional teacher work day
- Mitchell County Schools: Remote learning day
- Mountain Opportunity Center in Madison: Closed
- Yancey County Schools: Closed/teacher workday
