Many services and businesses across Prince Edward Island will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, as the province observes Remembrance Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of fallen soldiers and veterans, prompting a wide range of closures throughout the region. A comprehensive overview of what will be closed includes all provincial government offices and services, as well as municipal offices such as Charlottetown City Hall, Summerside City Hall, and Three Rivers Town Hall. Canada Post will suspend its operations for the day, meaning there will be no mail delivery or postal services. Additionally, garbage collection services provided by Island Waste Management Corporation will not occur, with an alternate pickup scheduled for November 15.
Public libraries across the island will also remain closed, and T3 Transit lines will be out of operation, making public transportation unavailable.
In terms of grocery and retail establishments, major chains including Sobeys, Foodland, Co-Op, Atlantic Superstore, Walmart, and Giant Tiger will all be closed. The P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission and Cannabis locations will not be operational either. Shopping centers such as the Royalty Crossing Mall, Confederation Court Mall, and the County Fair Mall in Summerside will be closed as well, although Lawtons Drugs in the County Fair Mall will remain open.

However, not all pharmacies will be closed; select locations of Lawtons Drugs and Shoppers Drug Mart will operate on regular or adjusted holiday hours. Meanwhile, some Murphy’s Pharmacy locations will be closed while others will follow holiday schedules.
