I’m A Celebrity star Angry Ginge has revealed why he ‘said yes’ to the ITV programme as he sent a message to a Manchester United legend.
The YouTuber has had a year to remember to date, having been man of the match at Soccer Aid at Old Trafford during the summer.
Known for watching his beloved Man United and playing games on livestreams, Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, was one of 10 stars announced for I’m A Celebrity on Monday evening (November 10).
Joining Angry Ginge in the Australian jungle is his UK rapper friend Aitch, with the pair set to continue their friendship as campmates.
Asked by ITV why he’s decided to sign up, Angry Ginge said: “When I got approached to be on I’m A Celebrity…, I said ‘yes’ immediately because it’s a bucket list item.
“I’ve watched the show on the sofa with my mum ever since I was a kid. To take part in it this year is something I couldn’t pass up on.
“But my whole life is spent on the phone. I’ve been away once for a week. And so, two to three weeks without it is going to be very educational to see how I will do!”

According to the internet star he believes that his social media fans will vote him ‘to do every single trial’ once the show gets underway.
“There is not one trial I am looking forward to, but I would never say ‘no’ to the challenges. I am really looking forward to meeting the other campmates. And seeing what sort of relationships you build with each other,” he noted.
Known for having an impressive collection of famous friends, Angry Ginge revealed a former England captain was at the top of his wishlist to take part on the show.
“I will try to be the motivator in camp and make sure everyone is chatty and happy. I’m not argumentative either.
“And if I could pick anyone, I would love it if Wayne Rooney was in camp with me. We would have a laugh,” he said.
Angry Ginge and Wayne have been friends for over a year, with the latter even taking part in his online FIFA team and inviting him to his home.
Meanwhile, Angry Ginge stated that one thing that’s going to be a struggle on I’m A Celebrity is the food side of it, with the stars having to compete for their meals.
He explained: “I eat a fair amount and to not be able to eat is going to be a struggle – but that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to do the jungle, so I could lose weight.
“It’s two birds with one stone! Mind you, I hope I’m not the camp chef as it is so much responsibility and I can’t cook. If I am the chef, they are going to be in big trouble!”
I’m A Celebrity returns on ITV1 and on ITVX on Sunday, November 16, at 9pm
