Game status for three Packers receivers is unclear in latest on injuries ahead of Eagles

Packers coach Matt LaFleur provides injury update ahead of Eagles game
The Green Bay Packers are days away from hosting the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. Matt LaFleur talks the latest on the team’s injuries.
GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers (5-2-1) get their shot at the defending Super Bowl champions when the Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) come to Lambeau Field for “Monday Night Football” on Nov. 10.
If the narrative of a “trap game” was used in the Packers’ stunning loss to the Carolina Panthers, some would make this matchup out to be a “measuring stick” game to see if this team can take down a championship contender.
Last year, the Packers went 0-6 in those marquee games against the Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. The 2025 Packers got off to a better start by beating the Lions to open the season, but after a few rocky performances of late, this team has the opportunity to line up against an NFC power.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur isn’t getting trapped in any narratives.
“From my perspective as a coach, I view all these games the same. In regards to, I think every week is a measuring stick to see, can you go out there and perform at your best,” LaFleur said during his Nov. 8 pre-practice press conference.
“What a great opportunity. Obviously, ‘Monday Night Football,’ defending world champions, Lambeau Field. I don’t think it gets much better than that.”
The Packers are putting in the final preparations for the Eagles.
Here’s the latest from practice:
Packers list four questionable to play, rule out two vs. Eagles
According to the team’s final injury report before facing the Eagles, Matthew Golden (shoulder), Zach Tom (back), Dontavyion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (foot) are questionable to play in the game.
Nate Hobbs (knee) and Lukas Van Ness (foot) are ruled out.
Matthew Golden injury update
The status of the Packers rookie receiver remains unclear.
He suffered a shoulder injury and had an early exit in the Packers’ last game against the Carolina Panthers. He practiced in a limited capacity Nov. 6 but was downgraded to a nonparticipant the next day.
Golden stretched with the team inside the Don Hutson Center on Nov. 8, but as the team went outside, he stayed back. The media is only allowed access during the 15-minute stretch period on the final practice, and there will be a better idea of his game status when the official injury report is released in the afternoon.
“He’s fighting to play, and we’ll see how he’s feeling … whether or not he goes out there and practices,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said before practice. “He’s got to be able to handle everything we’re throwing at him.”
Lukas Van Ness injury update
The Packers defensive end missed practice all week and will miss his fourth straight game.
Van Ness hasn’t played since he injured his foot picking up a sack in the Week 6 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
LaFleur said he shouldn’t have to go on injured reserve and expects him back “sooner rather than later.”
“It did not heal as quickly as we thought. I think injuries are always a tough deal. Sometimes they’re a moving target,” LaFleur said. “I think everyone is a little bit different.
“It’s certainly not anything that he’s doing or not doing to try to get back.”
Savion Williams injury update
Similar to Golden, Williams stayed inside as the rest of the team went outside for practice.
The Packers rookie receiver was held out of practice Nov. 6 and returned Nov. 7.
He’s dealing with a foot injury.
Nate Hobbs injury update
The Packers defensive back did not participate in practice all week.
As reported by PackersNews, Hobbs is expected to miss at least two weeks with an MCL sprain.
LaFleur confirmed Hobbs was injured during the game, saying “We’re trying to get him back as quickly as possible.”
Dontavyion Wicks injury update
The Packers receiver practiced all week, making his return to game action likely.
Wicks missed the last two games with a calf injury.
LaFleur said they’ll monitor him throughout the weekend and then make a decision.
