Tigers Sheffield Shield Squad vs South Australia

The Tasmanian Tigers return to Sheffield Shield action tomorrow against last year’s Champions, South Australia in what is poised to be a huge match for both states.
South Australia come into this match sitting in fifth place on the Shield table with two losses and a draw, while Tasmania in fourth, fresh off a loss against Victoria last week in Melbourne, will be looking to bounce back.
The match, which will be played at Ninja Stadium, will give Shield fans memories of last season when South Australia snatched a last ball victory against Tasmania in a match to remember.
Tomorrow’s match will feature several players who are set to feature in the Ashes in both sides, with Tasmanian Tigers players Jake Weatherald and Beau Webster playing for the state before going into camp with the Australian test side.
Returning to the Tasmanian side after not playing a Shield match this season, is Matt Kuhnemann, who has just finished playing for Australia in a white-ball series against India.
Aidan O’Connor also comes into the squad for his first potential red-ball game of the summer, with further all-rounder opportunities in the Shield squad to become available after the next match with Beau Webster selected for Australia.
Jackson Bird has the potential to come back into the XI after missing the last Shield game due to illness.
Riley Meredith is the only player from the last match against Victoria, who is not named in the squad, with the pace bowler being managed following a heavy workload in the past two Shield matches.
Tasmania’s 13-man squad for their match against South Australia is as follows:
- Gabe Bell

- Nikhil Chaudhary
- Jake Doran
- Kieran Elliott
- Brad Hope
