Lakers at Hornets picks and predictions
Prediction
Lakers 119, Hornets 108
PASS.
The Lakers (-300) will bounce back on Monday night, but I’ll take my wager to the spread with better odds.
BET LAKERS -7.5 (-110).
Los Angeles enters at 7-3 and has been sharp on the road, going 4-1 ATS away from home. The Lakers have also dominated this matchup, winning 7 of the last 10 meetings and covering in 6 of them. Even without F LeBron James and possibly Reaves, LA’s offense remains elite — they lead the NBA in field goal percentage (51.3%) and average 117.8 points per game (PPG).
Doncic has been unstoppable, averaging 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per contest. The Hornets, meanwhile, are struggling defensively, allowing 121 PPG, and are missing key scorers in Ball and Miller. Charlotte’s inability to get stops or control tempo makes them an ideal opponent for a bounce-back spot.
With a deeper, more efficient roster and a clear advantage inside and out, the Lakers should handle business and cover comfortably.
BET UNDER 229.5 (-115).
The Under looks like the smart play Monday night. The Hornets are short-handed and missing key offensive weapons, leading to 5 straight Unders. The Lakers can score but may not need to push the tempo against a depleted Charlotte squad. Both meetings last season went Under, and this one should follow the same trend.
