John Cena opened the November 10th episode of WWE Raw in Boston by welcoming fans to the show and receiving “Thank you Cena” chants.
Cena said his goal was to leave the business better than he found it and that whoever he faces in his last match better bring it because he wasn’t going down without a fight.
Cena announced that WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, which will feature his last match, will also host exhibition matches between main roster talent and NXT superstars.
Cena noted that he wanted to be in Boston one last time, but was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio.
Dominik said his celebration doesn’t get interrupted; he interrupts old men. Dominik said that Cena should only speak when spoken to, or he would put him down. He said that Cena may have reigned for 20 years, but everyone was looking at the man who will reign for the next 20 years.
Cena hit Dominik with his famous “Fine speech” line before saying he had respect for Dominik’s father, which is why he was going to let him off easy. Cena said that Dominik was messing with the wrong person in the wrong place, and that he was invincible in Boston.
Dominik said he would have whooped Cena any time, any place, and any era.
Triple H, who introduced Cena, made Cena vs. Dominik for the WWE Intercontinental Championship official.
