Lane Johnson injury: Eagles right tackle limps off field

The Eagles had a few players banged up early against the Packers, but halfway through the second quarter Lane Johnson went down with a knee injury and limped off the field after staying down for awhile. Johnson took a direct hit to the left leg by Packers’ safety Evan Williams, and it resulted in an ankle injury. The All Pro right tackle then limped his way to the locker room with the support of Big Dom and was listed as questionable to return.

Obviously, the Eagles offense is a lot better with Lane Johnson on the field, but they did make moves weeks ago to help in a situation like this when they brought back Fred Johnson. Fred has been used in various packages since coming back to Philly, and was able to step in for Lane on Monday night.

The offense struggled to extend drives through the first half — and struggled to keep their footing, with several players slipping. Lane being out will only make things more challenging, but hopefully it’s not something that will keep the best right tackle in the NFL off the field for very long.
