Jalen Green is undergoing “multiple tests” after reinjuring his right hamstring in Saturday’s 114-103 road win on Nov. 8 against the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns coach Jordan Ott said.
Ott opened his pregame availability Monday, Nov. 10, in advance of his team’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, providing an update on Green’s status.
When asked if Green has had an MRI, Ott said, “he’s had testing. I think it’s going to be a little bit until we gather all the information.”
Green is ruled out for Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans (2-7) as he’s expected to miss multiple games with this latest setback.
“We’ll take all the information we can get at this point,” Ott said. “When these things happen, I think you look at everything. It’ll be a little bit of time. That’s why we want to give some grace here, just a little bit of time until we gather all the information so we can get it out to you to know exactly what’s going on.”
The Suns (5-5) have won four of their last five games, but are looking to have Green remain a part of the team moving forward.
“Even after a big road win, great road win for the team, it’s still at the top of our mind,” said Ott as the Suns are coming off their first road win of the season, 114-103, Nov. 8 over the Los Angeles Clippers.
“Someone that you’ve seen work his way back, have such a great Game 1, and knowing who he is, what he’s all about, he wants to play basketball. I think it’s on top of the minds of everyone the other night in L.A. It’s on top of our minds this morning when we saw him. You’ll see him, you’ll see him around. He’ll definitely still be a part of our group. He’s an integral part of our group. We want him around us.”
Green initially strained his hamstring in training camp leading up to Phoenix’s preseason opener on Oct. 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers at Palm Desert, California. He aggravated it the following week while in China for two preseason games against the Brooklyn Nets.
After missing the first eight games of the 2025-26 regular season, Green made his debut Nov. 6 against the Clippers at Mortgage Matchup Center. Green scored a game-high 29 points, hitting six 3s, the most for a Suns player in his Suns debut, in leading Phoenix to a 115-102 win against the Clippers.
Green then reinjured his right hamstring in the first quarter of the Nov. 8 victory over the Clippers in Inglewood. Dribbling into the paint, Green made a pass to Ryan Dunn for a corner 3 and immediately hobbled to the Suns bench in serious pain, grabbing at the back of his right leg.
Green didn’t miss a game in either of his last two seasons with the Houston Rockets. The Suns acquired Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, 7-footer Khaman Maluach, from the Rockets in the Kevin Durant trade.
