1 NFL exec reportedly trusts Rams over Eagles in NFC because of Matthew Stafford

The Los Angeles Rams continue to gain hype in the NFC as the second half of the 2025 NFL season rolls along.
L.A. took down the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 to move to 7-2 and is pushing for the No. 1 seed in the conference alongside the Philadelphia Eagles (pending the Monday night game) and the Seattle Seahawks, who’re both standing with just two losses at the moment.
But considering how well the Rams (and Seahawks) have played lately, one NFL executive told The Athletic‘s Mike Sando that he likes both L.A. and Seattle more than Philadelphia right now.
“I’m trusting Seattle and the Rams both over Philadelphia,” the executive said, “just because I like the way the quarterbacks are playing.”
All you have to do is look at how the Rams and Seahawks are winning games to understand where this sentiment is coming from.
Stafford has thrown a league-leading 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions, including 13 touchdowns in the past three games. The Rams also have a plus-68 point differential in those three games.
Seattle, which L.A. will face in Week 11, has similarly been dominant with two 20-point wins in the past two weeks. Darnold has five touchdowns and two interceptions over that span.
The Eagles, meanwhile, are 2-2 in their past four but won two consecutive games before a Week 9 bye. Philadelphia’s point differential is plus-24 in those two wins, though quarterback Jalen Hurts has seven passing touchdowns and no interceptions during that stretch.
No matter which way you slice it, these are the three best teams in the NFC this season. All three will be jockeying for the top seeds in the conference until the end of the year and, likely, two of them will see each other in the postseason.
