Elizabeth line shut through central London this weekend – no trains to Heathrow

There will be major disruption to the Elizabeth line this weekend, with most of the core network closed and no trains to Heathrow Airport.
Transport for London (TfL) says that due to essential engineering works, there will be significant changes to Elizabeth line services on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November 2025. Because of that, the core tunnelled section of the Elizabeth line will be completely closed between Paddington and Abbey Wood / Stratford.

Amended service on 15th-16th November
East London
For people in the east, normal services will run between Shenfield and Liverpool Street, but will terminate at the surface platforms (16 & 17) and will skip Whitechapel station.
West London
For the west of London, there will be a reduced service from Paddington to Reading, and services will also run to/from Paddington’s surface platforms (11 & 12).
Two trains per hour will serve Acton Main Line and Hanwell. Four trains per hour will serve West Ealing. Six trains per hour will serve Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington.
Heathrow Airport
No services to/from Heathrow Airport on the Elizabeth line, and also no service on the Heathrow Express.
The Piccadilly line will be operating a normal service between Heathrow and central London so passengers are recommended to use that instead.

In a way, it’s a reversion to the original TfL Rail service that preceded the Elizabeth line. For train photographers, also a chance to see the Elizabeth line trains at Paddington/Liverpool Street mainline platforms without having to catch the occasional very early and late trains that can call there.
