Cold weather delays, closes some Middle Tennessee schools Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Several Middle Tennessee school districts announced they would be closed due to inclement weather on Monday.
Initially, Clay County Schools announced that classes would start two hours later on Monday, November 10, but later alerted families that all schools would be closed for the entire day.
Trousdale County Schools closed Monday because officials said there was no heat to keep students and staff warm.
Van Buren County Schools closed Monday as well.
Similar to Clay County, Fentress County Schools began the week planning to delay the start of classes by two hours, but updated their plans by closing all campuses for the day.
Overton County Schools announced a two-hour delay, citing inclement weather.

Putnam and Pickett counties decided that campuses would close early due to the weather. Putnam will dismiss students at 11 a.m., while Pickett schools will let them go at 11:15 a.m.
A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for Monday and Tuesday as a bitter cold blast blows into the Midstate.
A hard freeze is likely between Monday and Tuesday. Low temperatures bottom into the 20s in many areas, and wind chills may drop into the teens. Some may see the first flakes of the season fly as well.
