Katya Jones hints at Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly replacements
Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has revealed who she thinks should step into the shoes of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as they prepare to leave the show.
Tess and Claudia have become one of the best known double acts on British television. As a result, the duo sent shockwaves through Strictly fans when they took to social media to reveal that they would be stepping down from the BBC show at the end of the current series.
Meanwhile, as speculation begins to mount about who BBC bosses could line up to replace the pair, professional Strictly dancer Katya Jones has had her say.
In a recent chat with the Daily Mail, the 36-year-old said that her first pick would have to be former Strictly pro and current Strictly: It Takes Two host Janette Manrara, as she would “understand what the dancers are going through”, having partnered celebrities on the show from 2013 to 2021.

She added: “I think Janette would make a better Claudia… She knows the dancing, she knows what we are going through.”
The Russian-born dancer also singled out The Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr to be Tess’ replacement, saying: “Then Alan – he would be hilarious with the judges.”
In what has been a hugely successful career to date, Alan’s career in the public eye began on the comedy circuit in Manchester in the early 2000s.

However, he is possibly best-known for his time hosting his own Channel 4 chat show, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which ran from 2009 until 2016.
In recent years, he has continued to be ever-present on our screens, with the comedian recently starring alongside Amanda Holden in Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job on BBC One.
However, as Tess and Claudia prepare to wave a final goodbye to Strictly in December, the competition continued to heat up this weekend, as the remaining couples aimed to impress the judges and win viewers’ votes.

It was a tight race to the top of the leaderboard, but it was former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington who finished top of the pile, after they scored a whopping 39 points with a Tango to Taylor Swift’s The Fate Of Ophelia.
Finishing in a close second, with a score of 38, was Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin with a Salsa that Craig Revel Horwood simply described as “amazing”.
Strictly Come Dancing: The Results is set to return this evening (9 November) 7.10 pm on BBC One.
