Starting at 9 a.m. on Nov. 15, Cineplex is going to be offering free flicks and $3 concessions to celebrate its Community Day. Throughout the day, $1 from every concession spent will be donated to social organization BGC Canada to provide supportive and safe spaces for children and youth to stay outside of school hours.

In addition, attendees who arrive early will also get a play card to enjoy their favourite XSCAPE entertainment centre games for 30 minutes for free!

Here’s what movies you can catch.

Sing 2

Kicking off the screenings at 10 a.m., Sing 2 might also be just the thing to get you in the holiday spirit. In the second part of the animated hit, optimistic koala Buster Moon and his spectacular cast of performers hope to impress mogul Jimmy Crystal to perform at the entertainment capital of Redshore City. But in order to secure an audition, the team says they can get renowned rock star Clay Calloway to participate in their show, and now they must cover up the lie while struggling to meet deadlines and overcome challenges.

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish

Starting at 10:20 a.m., Shrek sensation Puss In Boots takes over the screen after losing eight out of his nine cat lives. With only one life left, Puss goes on a quest to recuperate his lost lives, turning to his former partner and nemesis Kitty Soft Paws for help, while embarking on a dangerous and exciting journey.

The Wild Robot

Who doesn’t remember TIFF 2024’s debut of three-time Oscar-nominated The Wild Robot? In this adventure a robot is stranded on a human-free island after a shipwreck, and finds herself having to learn to survive in the wild,  bonding with native animals, and caring for an orphaned baby goose. Screening of this film will begin at 10:40 a.m.

Minions: The Rise Of Gru

Another unforgettable animated character is Despicable Me’s Gru, who returns to the screen as a 12-year-old in the 1970s, who dreams of being the world’s best supervillain. In this adventure, Gru formulates a plan to join supervillains group Vicious 6, with the help of his Minions, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto. After an unexpected result of his adventure, Gru discovers that even the most evil villains still need help from their friends.
