Probe after $200k luxury car set alight in Sydney’s west

Police have launched an investigation after a luxury car was destroyed in a suspicious fire in Sydney’s west overnight.

Emergency services were called to Barbers Rd in Chester Hill shortly before 10.40pm, following reports of a vehicle on fire.

Officers arrived to find the Mercedes ‘G class’ wagon, which can retail for more than $200,000, well alight.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the vehicle was completely destroyed.

There were no reports of injuries.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.

A crime scene has been established as police commenced and investigation into the incident.
