Just when many of us thought gaming news livestreams were done for the year, PlayStation surprised its fans with the announcement of State of Play Japan.

The 40-minute presentation will be “packed with great games, interviews, and new looks at anticipated titles” from “beloved series to distinctive indie creations,” according to Sony’s official announcement. No specific titles were confirmed to be a part of the broadcast as of this writing.

Despite the lack of official confirmations, there are a few notable candidates that may show up during the livestream. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls from Arc System Works has not seen an update since Evo 2025 in August, while Capcom’s three-piece combo of Pragmata, Resident Evil: Requiem, and Monster Hunters Stories 3 are all set to launch in 2026. Square Enix is also a possibility, as the company has multiple projects already announced for the near future–along with the looming third installment of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.

The event is kicking off soon, and we’ll have live updates throughout the show with what’s been announced.
