First look at Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie just leaked — on a cookie box

Despite being a little under five months away, we still know surprisingly little about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. It was previously announced that the film would be released in April next year, and a small teaser featuring Mario snoozing, with the Mushroom Kingdom and Princess Peach’s castle in the background, was released. Since then, not much else. Until now.
Thanks to Pillsbury, the makers of some truly delicious cookie dough, we now know more about the design of Yoshi, Mario’s loyal dinosaur companion, steed, and friend.
Originally caught by Wario64 on X, the design shows a glimpse of Mario flying through space, with Yoshi standing off-side next to a green and white egg-shaped cookie. The back of the box shows Mario sitting on Yoshi, along with an observatory.
Despite there being many different cameos in the first Super Mario Bros film, Yoshi was surprisingly absent. At least, physically. An egg featuring that all-too-familiar green-and-white Yoshi design was gifted to Bowser and Peach from Shy Guy during their wedding ceremony, but Yoshi himself made no such appearance.
It was only during the post-credits that the egg began to crack, with Yoshi’s name being exclaimed before cutting to black. A little teaser of things to come, and now we’re pretty much certain that Yoshi will be in this next film. Let’s just hope Yoshi’s appearance this time around is better received than it was in the 1993 live-action film.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie debuts in theaters on Apr. 3, 2026.
