Trump ‘spent hours with Epstein victim’, paedophile claimed in email

Donald Trump allegedly spent “hours” at Jeffrey Epstein’s house with a victim of the late paedophile, newly-released emails claim.

The emails were published by a congressional committee investigating Epstein’s crimes.

In correspondence with his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, the late financier claimed: “I want you to realise the dog that hasn’t barked is Trump, [a victim] spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned.”

The US president has faced questions over his close relationship with Epstein, which Mr Trump has repeatedly claimed ended years before the late financier was accused of any criminal wrongdoing.

The relationship came under renewed scrutiny following the release of a birthday message allegedly sent and signed by the president, in which he describes Epstein as a “pal” and states the pair have “certain things in common”.

Mr Trump has claimed the letter, which features a drawing of a naked woman with Mr Trump’s apparent signature as her pubic hair, is false, and denies ever signing or writing it.

Further emails sent by Epstein appear to suggest that Mr Trump knew about his inappropriate behaviour with women.

In another exchange with the author Michael Wolff, Epstein wrote: “Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever… of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”

Epstein appears to be referring to claims by Mr Trump that he kicked the financier out of his Florida resort for “being a creep”.

Steven Cheung, the White House director of communications, previously said in a statement: “The fact is that The President kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

In another email exchange with Mr Wolff, the pair discusses an upcoming appearance by Mr Trump on CNN.

It was sent in 2016, shortly after Mr Trump announced his initial presidential bid. CNN reported that it was “around the time” of a primary debate.

“I hear CNN planning to ask Trump tonight about his relationship with you – either on air or in scrum afterwards,” Mr Wolff writes.

Epstein then responds, asking that “if we were to craft an answer for him” what it should be.

“I think you should let him hang himself,” Mr Wolff responds.
