Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev Preview: Head-to-Head and Prediction for ATP Finals 2025

Jannik Sinner will look to push his bid to finish as the World No. 1 this year when he faces Alexander Zverev at the 2025 ATP Finals. Losing only six of his 60 matches this year (two of which were retirements), Sinner has been at his domineering best over the rest of the field, with the notable exception of Carlos Alcaraz. The Italian has been in red-hot form on indoor hard courts recently and began his campaign in Turin with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Meanwhile, Zverev has won only one title this year and has had three runner-up finishes. The German reached the Australian Open final, but since then has been in mixed form, often losing to lower-ranked players across different competitions. He has shown some revival during the indoor season and began his campaign in Turin with a 6-3, 7-6 (6) win over Ben Shelton.

Sinner vs Zverev Head-to-Head
After nine meetings, Sinner leads the head-to-head over Zverev 5-4, with the Italian winning his last four matches against the German. The last time they met was at the Paris Masters, where Sinner won 6-0, 6-1, though Zverev was not fully fit in the match.
Sinner vs Zverev Prediction
Due to Zverev’s physical struggles, it is difficult to take much from their match in Paris. However, they also met in the final of Vienna the week before, where the German pushed the Italian hard in a three-set battle. Sinner was at his best even after dropping the first set, clinching pressure situations in the second and third sets to win the match.
Both players have phenomenal records indoors. Sinner has won nine titles from 11 finals on the surface. The Italian last lost an indoor match in the final of the 2023 ATP Finals, where he fell to Novak Djokovic. Since then, he has won 27 consecutive matches on indoor courts, including the ATP Finals last year, helping Italy win two Davis Cup titles, and capturing titles in Vienna and Paris this year during this streak.

Zverev also has an impressive indoor record, winning eight titles from 11 finals. The German is a two-time ATP Finals champion, winning in 2018 and 2021, with victories over Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev in the respective finals. He has also been in good form indoors this year, reaching the final in Vienna and the semifinal in Paris.
If Zverev is fit, the match has the potential to be closely contested; the German recently had a competitive match against Sinner in Vienna. However, the Italian’s current form is too strong for him not to be considered the favorite.
Pick: Sinner to win in three sets
