Russia Still Holds Six “Oreshnik” Missiles With 5,000-km Range, Zelenskyy Warns

Russia currently possesses six more missiles of the new “Oreshnik” type, which have a potential flight range of up to 5,000 kilometers, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing, according to RBC-Ukraine on October 31.
The President noted that Russia has already deployed one of the missiles.
“The Russians still have the ability to use up to six shots of the ‘Oreshnik’ missile,” he stated.
Zelenskyy warned that the location of the launch complexes is a key concern.
“What’s important here is that they want to deploy ‘Oreshnik’ in Belarus. We understand that its approximate range is 5,000 km, and there is a 700 km dead zone. Europeans, especially Eastern Europe, need to pay attention to this,” the President stated, referencing the missile’s capability to reach deep into Europe.

Additionally, Zelenskyy highlighted that Ukraine gave its allies a list of 25 manufacturers actively contributing to the “Oreshnik” production efforts. These Russian entities are not yet sanctioned, making it crucial that the international community apply restrictions to them.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Security Service and military intelligence successfully destroyed one of Russia’s highly classified “Oreshnik” strategic missile systems.
SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk disclosed that the destruction took place during a covert operation at the Kapustin Yar testing range.
