Intel’s Board of Directors Gains High-Profile Member: Veteran Tech Executive Barrett Joins

$Intel (INTC.US)$ It was announced on Monday that Dr. Craig Barratt, a veteran executive in the technology industry, has been appointed to its board of directors.

Dr. Barratt has extensive experience in the technology sector and previously served as the CEO of Atheros Communications, which successfully went public before being acquired by Qualcomm (QCOM.US) for $3.1 billion.

He also worked at Intel, where he became the Senior Vice President of the company’s Ethernet, Optics, and Networking business following Intel’s acquisition of Barefoot Networks, where he had served as CEO.

Dr. Barratt held senior leadership roles at Google and currently serves on the boards of Astera Labs (ALAB.US), Intuitive Surgical (ISRG.US), and several private companies.

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan stated in a press release: “Craig is an accomplished technology leader with proven innovation capabilities, business expansion, and transformation expertise. As a seasoned semiconductor executive, his experience across multiple cutting-edge technology firms will provide invaluable support as we continue executing our strategy and seizing long-term growth opportunities.”
