El Paso to declare Nov. 18 as Eddie Guerrero Day with special City Hall ceremony

El Paso is gearing up to honor the life and legacy of wrestling legend Eddie Guerrero with a special celebration on Tuesday.

The El Paso City Council will designate Nov. 18 as Eddie Guerrero Day.

The event will take place at 9 a.m. at City Hall, located at 300 N. Campbell St., where an official proclamation will be made in Guerrero’s honor.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their wrestling personas or luchador masks to show support for the local icon.

This honor celebrates Guerrero, who was born in El Paso and was known for his catchphrase “I lie, I cheat, I steal”. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.

For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed live on the City of El Paso’s YouTube channel.
