With storm timing changing, wet weather could come to Las Vegas this weekend

The storm timing for our next weather maker keeps changing with the bulk of the active weather now set to arrive this weekend.

TODAY: On Wednesday we’ll see mostly cloudy skies across Southern Nevada with high temperatures reaching around 76 degrees in Las Vegas. The wind will be light.

Air quality is ranked ‘good’ to ‘moderate’ for haze. Pollen levels are ‘low.’

TONIGHT: Skies will go from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy overnight with valley low temperatures dropping to the mid and upper 50s. Winds will remain light, out of the southwest up to 10 mph.

THE NEXT WEATHER MAKER: The storm movement for this upcoming system has slowed quite a bit once again.

Weather models show there’s a good chance of scattered rain showers on Friday with the bulk of the wet weather arriving on Saturday with rain showers still possible on Sunday.

The snow level has risen due to the system appearing a bit warmer. There are still several inches of snow anticipated in the Sierra above 9,000 ft in elevation, up to 4″ below 9,000 ft and around 9″ to 12″ of snow above 9,000 ft.

Rain chances will linger into the start of next week as well. The latest weather model runs still show a lot of uncertainty with the timing. With that, forecast rain amounts are also up in the air still. As of right now the storm total range for valley rain is .10″ to .75″ possible from this next weather maker with light snow on the highest peaks of the Spring Mountains possible.

Temperatures will drop from the mid to upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday to highs in the low 60s this weekend & upper 50s to low 60s next week as another system rolls in.
