Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return in Disney’s ‘Freakier Friday’ sequel

Fans of the beloved 2003 classic are set to relish the return of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in Disney’s upcoming sequel, “Freakier Friday.” This highly anticipated film, described as steeped in “heart, humor, and a dash of spellbound magic,” picks up a generation later, bringing a fresh twist to the iconic mother-daughter story.
In this sequel, the narrative evolves as Tess Coleman (Curtis) and Anna Coleman (Lohan) navigate their new roles within their family dynamics. After more than two decades since their original body-swapping experience—fueled by mystical fortune cookies—the duo finds themselves dealing with the complexities of their current lives. Anna is now a mother to a teenage daughter named Harper Coleman, played by Julia Butters, and Tess, having transitioned into a podcast host, has taken on the role of a doting but slightly overbearing grandmother.
As the storyline unfolds, viewers will witness the clash and blending of two families, sparking both humorous situations and heartfelt moments. Disney’s synopsis teases that while the original body swap was memorable, lightning may just strike again for this new generation.
“Freakier Friday” is scheduled to be available for streaming on Disney+ starting at 3 a.m. ET/midnight PT on November 12. Additionally, fans can also purchase the film on various digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Fandango at Home, Apple TV+, and Google Play since its theatrical release on August 8.
