United States veterans are honored on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with Veterans Day, and among the ways veterans are being shown gratitude is through special discounts and freebies.

From free burgers to free coffee, here are just a few of the restaurants in California offering Veterans Day deals on Tuesday.

Free entree at Applebee’s on Veterans Day

All active-duty military personnel, veterans, reservists, and National Guard members can enjoy a free full-size entrée, from a bacon cheeseburger to a three-cheese chicken penne, on Tuesday. The deal is for dine-in onl,y and customers must show proof of military service.

Free pizookie at BJ’s Restaurants on Veterans Day

Current and former military personnel who dine at BJ’s on Tuesday can get a free chocolate chunk pizookie. Be prepared to present your military ID or other proof of service to redeem.

Free meal at Chili’s on Veterans Day

Veterans and active military can get a free meal, including a burger or chicken tenders, at participating Chili’s on Tuesday. The deal is available for dine-in only.

BOGO entrees at Chipotle on Veterans Day

Customers who present their valid military ID and have an entree in-restaurant can get a second entrée for free between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Free breakfast at Denny’s on Veterans Day

Active and retired military personnel can receive a free original Grand Slam at participating locations through noon on Tuesday. Be prepared to present a valid military ID or the form DD 214 to score the pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon meal.
