Arc Raiders update opens up the North Line towards new Stella Montis map in massive community event

Arc Raiders has suddenly announced a new update in which a new map will be unlocked. It’s out right now, and requires the Arc Raiders community as a whole to pull together and open the way.

The update – titled Act – North Line – was revealed courtesy of a new cinematic trailer essentially explaining an otherwise blocked up underground line is starting to be uncovered. It’s full of traps, in what appears to be a concerted effort to hide whatever’s in this part of the world from prying eyes. We, obviously, want to pry.

As for who has set these traps and why, it is a mystery as of right now. Quests already in the game may provide some clues. There’s a mysterious faction who managed to take down giant Arc machines in Blue Gate we don’t know too much about, and massive shakes have been a running narrative line throughout the base questing experience (even acting as a stringer once you take down a Leaper). Maybe one of these giant Arc machines are still running…

The soon-to-be unlocked map is called Stella Montis, a dark and dangerous looking new zone we know nearly nothing about. Two new Arc enemies are being added too: the Matriarch and the Shredder. There will, according to the update blog post on the Arc Raiders website, be new items to find and quests to complete which is lovely.

The update also brings alongside it a balance patch! Highlights include an improvement to server latency which impacted character movement, some quest fixes which stopped players from completing “in-one-round” collection quests. Embark has also lowered the delay between shooting Arc and seeing the damage effects, fixed some achievements, and also some spots in the terrain where you could fall out of the world.

Other hidden changes which will make a huge impact to the game is a change to how you make Wolfpack grenades. They now take three refined explosives and two Arc motion cores. Embark also made it so players couldn’t get trapped in the Blue Gate control room anymore, which is a bummer because it’s been very funny trying to intentionally trap folks in there these past few days.

Embark Studios recently announced duo queue in Arc Raiders, after a few days of secretly testing it on live servers. The game also recently got a selection of new major map conditions including a cool hidden bunker event. Nexon’s CEO has recently expressed their thoughts on AI use in video game development.
