The New ‘Fallout’ Season 2 Trailer Bets on the House

Ever since that little knowing tease at the end of Fallout‘s surprisingly solid debut season, we’ve known that the show’s return would take us to an iconic location from the games: the seedy lights of New Vegas. Now, in a new trailer, we’re getting a taste of just how messy the heart of the Mojave Desert will be for our heroes.
Today Amazon released a new look at Fallout season 2 ahead of its arrival on Prime Video next month, and while the initial trailer reintroduced us to the wasteland and gave us some hints of how Lucy (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul’s (Walton Goggins) hunt for Hank MacLean (Kyle McLachlan) will leave them across the Mojave. But the new trailer digs a little deeper, not just on how Lucy and the Ghoul will navigate New Vegas, but on how all of our disparate allies find themselves dealing with the ramifications of last season’s explosive finale.
Returning alongside Purnell, Goggins, and McLachlan this season are, of course, Aaron Moten as Maximus, the Brotherhood of Steel member who bonded with Lucy in season one, only to find himself tragically separated by the Brotherhood’s assault on the New California Republic in its finale, and Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, Lucy’s brother who stayed behind in Vault 33, only to begin uncovering the dark secret behind the bunkers for himself. Also reappearing in new flashbacks to the Ghoul’s old life as actor-turned-Vault-Tec-marketer Cooper Howard is Frances Turner as Cooper’s ex-wife, Barb, a Vault-Tec executive who helped make the decisions that lead the world to nuclear annihilation.
But aside from returning stars from the show, season 2 will introduce major new players as we explore the myriad factions at play in New Vegas—chief among them Robert House. Played briefly by Rafi Silver in season one’s flashbacks and now played by Justin Theroux (and voiced in New Vegas by dearly departed DS9 legend René Auberjonois), the mysterious Mr. House is the founder of RobCo, who survived the bombs dropping to emerge as a major leader in New Vegas, controlling the strip from behind the scenes.
Fallout season 2 premieres on Prime Video December 17—in a significant change from season one, it’ll roll out its eight episodes weekly.
