Widespread power outages affecting large portions of the Black Hills

UPDATE — The City of Rapid City announced that the Rapid Transit System is down until 2:30 p.m.
Pennington County Sheriff’s Office announced that if a traffic signal is down, treat the stop like it has stop signs.
“If no power at a stop light, it’s a 4-way stop.”
Rapid City Area Schools and Douglas Schools have announced that their schedules will proceed as normal.
Rapid City Regional Airport has announced that it did not lose power.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Thousands in the Black Hills region are reporting power outages. Reports have come in from central and west Rapid City, Sturgis, Custer, Lead, Deadwood, Spearfish, Hot Springs and more.
Rapid City Police Department posted about the reports.
