Chelsea ‘impressed’ by Under 17 World Cup star already compared to Kaka

Chelsea have had scouts in attendance at the Under 17 World Cup to try and beat some of their elite rivals to the stars of tomorrow.

Reggie Walsh is amongst the Cobham stars who are at the tournament with England, joined by Landon Emenalo and Chizaram Ezenwata.

Chelsea youngsters starred in England’s group stage game over Haiti, however the Blues have been watching a number of nations in action out in Qatar.

Brazil’s U17 side have captured the attention of scouts at the competition, and the Blues have already secured the signature of Denner for the future.

Chelsea impressed by Felipe Morais at U17 World Cup

One player who has been starring particularly at the tournament is Felipe Morais. He is already on two goals after a group stage which Brazil ended undefeated.

The Chelsea Chronicle understands that Chelsea are one of the sides who have been impressed by Morais so far.

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey told us that he has stood out to the top sides, with him being described by a scout as a player similar to Brazil legend Kaka.

He said: “One Brazilian who everyone is loving is Felipe Morais. Stunning player, fabulous technician. Everything about him. He’s really stood out and really caught the attention. Not that clubs didn’t know about him, but he’s obviously only turned 17 in August.

“He’s one who has impressed Chelsea. He’s stood out. A scout said to me a real majestic Kaka-type player.”

Who is Felipe Morais?

Morais usually plays behind the striker, however has operated on both wings already in the early stages of his career.

He currently plays for Cruzeiro, playing 19 times for their U20 side in Brazil.

Even with the very young talents Chelsea already have in the first team, there are a number of players already on their books who haven’t yet been handed their chance at Stamford Bridge.

Kendry Paez is currently featuring regularly for Strasbourg, with the Blues having big ambitions for what he will bring to them in the future.
