On the night Barnes married his wife, Jane, Cold Chisel was playing at the Comb and Cutter Hotel in Blacktown. The support act that night was a band called The Lonelyhearts, fronted by John Rooney, a fact that Barnes jokes about, calling him his “singing super surgeon”.
