Serbia star Ivan Ilic suffers nasty injury in England clash as ITV refuse to show replay

SERBIA midfielder Ivan Ilic was forced off with a serious knee injury after falling awkwardly during the nation’s World Cup qualifier against England.
The 24-year-old hobbled off with the help of two medics in the 37th minute of the match after going to ground in agony.

Ilic appeared to twist his knee while attempting to make a block
Ilic had lost the ball on the edge of his box, allowing Marcus Rashford to get a shot away.
The midfielder appeared to twist his knee while attempting to make the block.
He immediately grabbed his leg and collapsed to the ground before calling for the physios.
After realising what had happened, Rashford also called for help and checked that Ilic was okay.

Due to the seriousness of the injury, ITV refused to show any replays.
Commentator Sam Matterface said: “We’ve had a look back and didn’t think it was the right thing to do to replay that incident.
“It’s quite a bad injury.”
Ilic was eventually replaced by Aleksandar Stankovic just minutes before half-time.

The 24-year-old plays his club football for Torino and has made six Serie A appearances this season.
