Shaun Cassidy, a trio of comics including Leslie Jones among things to do this weekend

‘Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood’ among top SNL sketches of all time

USA TODAY reporter Kelly Lawler breaks down the top three most iconic SNL sketches and reveals what makes them so iconic.

  • Former teen idol Shaun Cassidy is returning to the stage with his show, “The Road to Us,” on Nov. 15 at the Southern Theatre.
  • Comedians Chelcie Lynn, Grace Helbig, and Leslie Jones are all scheduled to perform on Nov. 13 at different venues.
  • Other upcoming events include theater, a bourbon trail and the national touring production of “Some Like It Hot”

Though he was out of the spotlight for many years, hearts across the nation are still throbbing for former teen idol Shaun Cassidy, whose live shows are packing houses.

Cassidy’s new show, “The Road to Us,” is coming to the Southern Theatre and tickets are selling rather well, so you’d better hope the box office da-doesn’t-run-run out. (Groan.)

Bad jokes aside, if you want to see some real comedy, there’s plenty of it, with three performers battling it out on the same night. Nov. 13 will bring Chelcie Lynn aka “Trailer Trash Tammy,” internet personality/podcaster Grace Helbig, and “SNL” alum Leslie Jones.

Other events on the horizon include a bourbon trail, a concert by Black Violin that’s sure to amaze and a touring production of the musical comedy, “Some Like It Hot.”

Viral comedian Chelcie Lynn’s ‘Tammy’ to talk trash

“Brash,” “bawdy” and “bodacious” have been used to describe comedian and actress Chelcie Lynn, so the name of her “Trailer Trash Tammy’s Loose Lips” tour is no surprise.

Live from KEMBA – it’s ‘SNL’ alum Leslie Jones!

Her success as a cast member and writer on “Saturday Night Live” seemingly exploded overnight, but Leslie Jones paid her dues and then some in comedy clubs from the late 1980s through early 2000s before breaking through.

The unapologetically blunt Jones, who has guest-hosted “The Daily Show” and hilariously live-tweeted several Olympics games, will prove she still has the chops for standup during a show at 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at KEMBA Live!, 405 Neil Ave. Doors open at 7.
