Cavs score, injury report vs Raptors as Cleveland takes on Toronto Nov. 13

CLEVELAND — The still-shorthanded Cavaliers face the Toronto Raptors on the second night of a back-to-back Nov. 13 at Rocket Arena.

The Cavs are coming off of a 1-1 split in Miami as they continue to deal with a series of injuries and absences that has turned the beginning of their season into an opportunity to search for bench players to step into larger roles. Perhaps no player has taken better advantage of the circumstances thus far than second-year guard Jaylon Tyson, though he is included in the list of players who will be out Thursday night.

Follow along here as the Cavs take on the Raptors at Rocket Arena on Nov. 13.

The Cavs defense is struggling to slow down the Raptors, and Toronto will take a 67-54 lead into halftime.

Scottie Barnes already has 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the floor. Immanuel Quickley had 13 points on an efficient 5-for-6 shooting, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range.

For the Cavs, De’Andre Hunter has a team-high 12 points with four assists. Donovan Mitchell has 11 points on just 2-for-8 shooting from the floor.

The biggest difference thus far tonight: the Raptors have hit 56 percent from the 3-point attempts (9-for-16), while the Cavs are shooting just 30 percent (7-for-23).

The Cavs opened the second quarter hitting just one of their five 3-point attempts, and the Raptors used that cold stretch to take a 50-42 lead. Toronto hit seven of the first 11 attempts from the floor to open the quarter.

The Cavs offense has lacked a degree of explosiveness on the second night of a back-to-back and their third game in four days.

The Raptors closed out the first quarter on a 12-3 run to trim the Cavs’ lead to 30-29 entering the second quarter.

Donovan Mitchell has a game-high nine points, though he’s just 1-for-4 from the floor. De’Andre Hunter scored five points and dished out three assists.

For the Raptors, Scottie Barnes has a team-high seven points.

The Cavs have opened up an early 26-17 lead with 2:59 left in the first quarter.

Donovan Mitchell scored his first six points from the free throw line, going 0-for-3 from 3-point range, until he hit a bank shot through traffic to put the Cavs up by nine.

Cleveland is just 2-for-8 from 3-point range thus far.
