The January transfer window is quickly approaching, and Manchester United’s recruitment department is already in overdrive.
Under Ruben Amorim, the club is reshaping its forward line, with several names being considered to add speed, flair, and consistency in attack.
United have been heavily linked with reinforcements following Alejandro Garnacho’s departure in the previous window, with the club prioritising young, technically gifted players who can grow under Amorim’s system.
The manager has made it clear that versatility is crucial, favouring players capable of switching between wide and central positions in his fluid attacking structure.
Amid these preparations, United are now targeting a high-profile addition from Germany.
Reports emerging from Sport Bild claim the Premier League giants have opened discussions with Jorge Mendes, the newly appointed agent of Borussia Dortmund’s explosive winger, Karim Adeyemi.

Karim Adeyemi, whose current deal with Dortmund runs until 2027, has been in talks over an extension, but negotiations have reportedly hit a stumbling block.
The 23-year-old wants an exit clause included in any new deal, something the Bundesliga side are strongly opposed to.
Tensions have also surfaced between Adeyemi and head coach Niko Kovac, fuelling speculation that a January exit could be on the cards.
United’s interest comes at a time when Adeyemi’s stock is soaring.
His market value has recently risen from €45 million to €60 million following an impressive run of form that earned him a recall to the German national team.
Known for his blistering pace, pressing ability, and one-on-one skill, the Munich-born forward fits perfectly into Amorim’s tactical philosophy at Old Trafford.
Mendes, who already represents United’s Manuel Ugarte and Leny Yoro, is said to be central to the discussions and could facilitate a smooth transition should talks progress further.
Adeyemi’s arrival would provide United with another attacking outlet capable of unlocking defences and injecting much-needed dynamism into their front line, a move that could prove decisive as Amorim looks to solidify his first full season in charge.
