Drake Maye’s wife made touching wedding gesture to Patriots star

Drake Maye serves as the New England Patriots’ starting quarterback at just 23, displaying wisdom far beyond his years this season and stands as the frontrunner for the MVP award following his leadership of the team to an outstanding 2025 campaign thus far.

Despite his youth, Maye has already exchanged vows with his longtime companion, Ann, whom he had been romantically involved with since middle school through their university days and into his NFL career. She sent a sweet message when he was named Patriots starter.

Maye, who recently did something not even Tom Brady could manage, proposed to Ann Michael Hudson in January before they wed in June, with her sharing photos and footage of their wedding celebration on her Instagram account. The newlyweds then performed an extraordinary act of kindness, contributing their wedding presents to area schools, shelters and homeless individuals.

Former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak revealed on his radio program: “They did a lot of donating with the local kids’ shelters and stuff for the area he grew up, and some kids didn’t have [the right] size shoes, didn’t have some Christmas stuff.

“They didn’t tell anybody, but they took their wedding gifts and sent them to the homeless and help centers down there. Everything that they got, they forwarded it.”

Drake and Ann began their romance when they were both 12 years old while attending William Amos Hough High School in North Carolina. They have maintained their relationship for more than 10 years despite their young ages.

Their bond endured even after Maye switched to a different school in Charlotte while training with coaches to secure a starting quarterback position at Myers Park High School. The couple both attended North Carolina, where Maye earned a scholarship and became the starting quarterback, following in the footsteps of Drake’s brother – a member of the school’s 2017 National Championship-winning basketball team.

Maye was selected as the third overall pick by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL draft, behind Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels.

Despite a promising first year, Maye didn’t quite match up to Williams and Daniels, with Daniels taking home the Rookie of the Year award.

However, this season, Maye has emerged as the standout quarterback of the trio, leading the Patriots to the top seed in the AFC and currently being the favorite for the regular season MVP.

With 19 touchdowns and only five interceptions, Maye has helped the Patriots achieve an 8-2 record.

The Patriots are set to take on the New York Jets in Thursday Night Football, a game that could further boost Maye’s MVP prospects.
