When do Black Friday deals start at Target and Walmart? When to shop, sale kickoff dates

Americans’ appetites for holiday shopping keep growing, here’s why
Online shoppers broke the record by spending over $23 billion on this year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
If you haven’t realized it already, it’s the holiday season, and the associated frantic shopping has commenced.
And one of the biggest shopping days is right around the corner.
Black Friday, which falls on the day after Thanksgiving each year, is on Nov. 28, 2025.
Every year since it began in 2005, Black Friday has been one of the best days to get the best deals on items, and two of the biggest stores to shop are Walmart and Target.
But you don’t have to wait until after your turkey dinner to get in on the deals, as both retailers have already started rolling out their sales.
Here’s what to know.
When will Black Friday deals be available at Target?
Target’s early Black Friday sale is taking place now through Saturday, Nov. 8. The event offers a bevy of early Black Friday deals worth up to 40% off on categories spanning fashion, home, electronics and more.
The official Target Black Friday 2025 sale will begin online, Thursday, Nov. 27 and in stores on Friday, Nov. 28., with major discounts that will last throughout the entirety of Cyber Week 2025.
When will Black Friday deals be available at Walmart?
Walmart will have in-store and online Black Friday deals from Nov. 14-16, 2025, according to the corporate website.
Walmart will hold a second Black Friday sale from Nov. 25-30, 2025. The sale will be “online only” from Nov. 25-27.
From Nov. 28-30, the Black Friday sale will happen online and in stores.
The retailer will also hold an online-only sale on Cyber Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
Are there any other stores getting in on Black Friday deals?
There are many.
You can expect pretty much every major retailer to take part in Black Friday, particularly the brick and mortar stores like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Kohl’s and Ulta. Some stores, such as REI, do opt out of the sale.
