Two men arrested after €5,700 worth of perfume stolen at Dublin Airport

Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with the theft of more than €5,700 worth of perfume from Dublin Airport.

The men, aged in their 50s and 40s, were detained inside the terminal yesterday as part of Operation Táirge, An Garda Síochána’s nationwide initiative targeting organised retail crime.

A Garda spokesperson said: “The two men, aged in their 50s and 40s, were arrested inside the terminal by members attached to Dublin Airport.”

Both men have since been charged and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning.

Operation Táirge forms part of the Garda Crime Prevention and Reduction Strategy and focuses on identifying and disrupting groups involved in organised retail theft, refund fraud and other offences linked to the black market.

The investigation is ongoing.
