‘Great sadness’ as town centre shop announces closure

A Swindon town centre charity shop has announced it will be closing and has thanked its customers for their support over the past four years.

Swindon Children’s Scrapstore took to social media on Thursday, November 13 to share the update, saying it was with “great sadness” that their Scrapstore shop at 37 The Parade would be shutting its doors for good on Saturday, December 6.

However, it has been revealed that a new food shop is set to open inside Swindon Children’s Scrapstore, based at Elgin Industrial Estate.

The post read: “To clear our remaining stock and raise vital funds for the charity, we are holding a closing down sale – 50 per cent off all items in store until we close.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful customers and supporters over the past four years — your kindness and support have meant the world to us.

“The good news is that we’ll soon be opening a new food shop inside Swindon Children’s Scrapstore located at: Unit 7, Bramble Close, Elgin Industrial Estate, Swindon, SN2 8DW.
