Report: Rogue Ales in Newport is shutting down operations

NEWPORT, Ore. (KPTV) – Rogue Ales & Spirits is abruptly shutting down all operations, FOX 12 learned on Friday.

A Port of Newport executive director spoke with FOX 12 and confirmed that the Rogue Ales president informed the Port Friday that the company is shutting down operations.

The executive director said they have been working with Rogue on debt for a while. The company reportedly owes over $500,000 in back rent and taxes, including interest.

The executive director said there were still a few people working at the Newport location to close it down but otherwise it’s officially shut down.

Rogue was founded back in 1988 by Jack Joyce, Bob Woodell, Rob Strasser and Jeff Schultz. Rogue was known for crafting beer, spirits, CBD seltzers, canned cocktails and sodas.

FOX 12 has reached out to Rogue Ales & Spirits directly, but have not yet heard back.
