Blackstone hires ex-Rishi Sunak adviser as vice chairman in Europe

Blackstone has hired Morgan Stanley veteran Franck Petitgas as its vice chairman in Europe as the firm doubles down on its commitment to the region.

Petitgas will join the alternative asset manager in the newly created role to work with the leadership team on strategic initiatives and engagement with clients and business leaders across Europe.

Petitgas, who was appointed to the House of Lords in the UK last March, spent 30 years at Morgan Stanley where he was latterly head of the international business. After retiring from the investment bank in 2023, he was appointed by then prime minister Rishi Sunak as his chief business adviser.
