A show that is dubbed by some as ‘one of the best sci-fi series ever’ is now streaming on Netflix.
All three seasons of Future Man are now included as part of the streamer’s library. It originally aired between 2017 and 2020, consisting of more than 30 episodes in total.
According to its synopsis, the series follows Josh Futturman, a janitor who leads a pretty boring life. He spends much of his time playing video games when he’s not working.
However, when he beats a video game that the rest of the world has given up on, thinking it as unbeatable, everything changes. After he defeats the game, mysterious visitors from the future appear. They are Tiger and Wolf, and are the game’s main characters.
They claim the world is in danger and Josh is the only person who can save it. He is tasked to assemble a team to assist him as he travels through time, completing various missions as he does whatever he can to try to save Earth from extra-terrestrial visitors and save the fate of humankind.

While the series was developed by Hulu, which is owned by Disney, the company removed the title from its own streaming service due to budget cuts. Its addition onto Netflix means that a whole new audience have an opportunity to discover it.
Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson plays the lead role of Josh. He is joined by Scrubs star Eliza Coupe as well as Derek Wilson who has previously appeared in The Boys, Birds of Prey and Preacher.
Seth Rogen, who served as an executive producer on the series, makes a cameo appearance in some episodes as Susan Saint Jackalope. He is the presenter of The DieCathalon, a The Running Man-inspired death game, which collects people from time to hunt for fun.
Described as a blend of raunchy comedy and sci-fi, it impressed fans and critics alike. It boasts an impressive 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes overall and viewers claim it is one of the best hidden gems that more viewers should discover.
The Guardian declared it is a ” bonkers time-travel series full of smut, toilet humour and sci-fi fun”. While one fan went so far as to claim: ” Future Man is one of those Hidden Gems that you’re going to be so proud of that you found out. It’s one of the best sci-fi series ever.”

A third commented online: “Honestly one of the most underrated shows ever. Has become one of my favourites!! Man I loved it and especially the first season had me actually laughing out loud every single episode. But the whole show had so much heart and great character development.”
Meanwhile someone else said: “The best show that seemingly no one (that I know at least) has ever even heard of, let alone watched. All 3 seasons are just so enjoyable and rewatchable, but season 2 is a masterpiece! Will hook you right from episode one! Can’t recommend any higher!”
