Lehigh Travels East For Friday Night Showdown At Rutgers

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s basketball will take on its third power conference foe this season when the team travels to Piscataway, N.J. for a date with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday.
Rutgers (2-0) is a familiar foe for Lehigh (1-2), with the teams having faced one another over 100 times. The Scarlet Knights lead the series 69-35 and won the latest matchup 73-70 in overtime in 2021. Lehigh last defeated Rutgers in 2008 in a 76-71 win in Piscataway.
If Lehigh wins, they will earn their first win over a power conference opponent since defeating Mississippi State 87-73 in 2016. Head coach Brett Reed would earn his second career win over Rutgers.
The Mountain Hawks last faced off against West Virginia on Sunday, falling 69-47. Andrew Urosevic led the Mountain Hawks in scoring for the second straight game, adding 16 off the bench on 6-12 shooting and 4-8 from three. Ingram also reached double-digits with 14 points. Sophomore Hank Alvey led the team with eight rebounds and three assists. Lehigh shot 34.8% (16-46) from the field, 33.3% (7-21) from three and 72.7% (8-11) from the free throw line in Sunday’s loss.
The Scarlet Knights have started the season 2-0, earning an 81-53 win over Rider on November 5 and a 72-60 win over Maine on Monday.
