Pettersson’s wife launches Swedish candy business and Vancouver Canucks fans are eating it up

Western Family and the Vancouver Canucks teamed up to create Bar Down Blast, a limited-edition ice cream. Vanilla flavoured blue ripple ice cream and caramel-filled mini chocolatey pucks.
A new concession offering greeted Vancouver Canucks fans at Rogers Arena on Tuesday.
Katelyn Pettersson, the wife of Canucks centre Elias Pettersson, has launched a Swedish candy company called Swete. A play on words with “sweet” and “Swede,” it sounds like first-day sales of Swete went well, with Katelyn telling her social media followers that the candy almost sold out in the first period.
“I have always had the biggest sweet tooth my whole life, and I also have always wanted to be an entrepreneur,” Katelyn said about the new business venture on her YouTube channel.
Katelyn, who is American, said the inspiration behind the Swedish candy company came after tasting superior sweets overseas while on modelling trips.
“Fast forward, I married a Swedish man. And every time I go back to [Sweden], we’d have lördagsgodis, which means Saturday candy day. It’s a tradition in Sweden.”
Katelyn and Elias got married in June. She said her Canucks star husband helped with taste testing over the summer.
“This idea has been brewing for a long time, and it’s finally here. I have been working night and day on this for a very long time,” she said.
“You will not be disappointed, and you are definitely not gonna want North American candy again after having these.”
