WWE is always looking to surprise fans, and this week’s episode of SmackDown included a few moments that we weren’t expecting. A mystery opponent was set in the John Cena Last Time Is Now tournament, and nobody saw this one coming.
The November 14 episode of WWE SmackDown included a lot of big moments, including Zack Ryder’s return to the blue brand. This was quite a shock, but he had an incredible opponent waiting on him in LA Knight.
Zack Ryder was released from WWE on April 15, 2020. The release took place during a period of budget cuts that included multiple departures from the company. He’s been doing his own thing after that, even taking on death match wrestling.
After going as Matt Cardona for the past five years or so, he went as Zack Ryder once again. This was an interesting cameo in the Last Time Is Now Tournament, for sure.
Although Matt Cardona has been on NXT in recent memory, he hasn’t had a WWE match in over five years. He showed up on SmackDown looking for a fight, and now it appears that he is still Woo Woo Wooing, even in 2025.
