Kelvin Fletcher has been flooded with messages as he claimed he ‘still doesn’t know’ what he ‘does for a living’ after recently sharing some heartbreaking news from the farm.

The former Emmerdale star and his wife, Liz, turned their hands to farming back in 2021 when they bought a 120-acre plot of land in the village of Wincle. near Macclesfield.

Their efforts to set up their farm were filmed for a BBC TV series, Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure which aired in January 2022 and since 2023, Kelvin and Liz have been sharing their journey on ITV in Fletchers’ Family Farm.

They recently welcomed the cameras back onto the farm for a third series, in which Kelvin is seen proudly telling cameras he finally feels like a bona fide farmer. “This is my version of a happy life, we’ve found our purpose now,” he said.

However, it seems that’s not always the case. In a recent Instagram post, the actor, who is famed for playing farmer Andy Sugden in ITV’s Emmerdale, shared pictures of what he, Liz and his family have been up to of late.

Alongside the post, Kelvin wrote: “Last few weeks have been the usual… No week is ever the same! Still don’t really know what I do for a living, or what I want to be when I’m older, but just enjoying the ride!”

And he was quickly flooded with messages. Former Emmerdale co-star Laura Norton replied: “You’re all nothing short of amazing.” Charley Webb also gushed: “LOVE.” Rugby star Thomas Burgess commented: “The best lad.”

@kathgale said: “Love this little family. Love the show so down to earth and living your best lives.” @shelly.humpty posted: “We love watching you guys grow your farm, looking for a farm of our own.” @jennychandler2402 added: “Love watching you all. Please keep going.”

It comes after the first episode of Fletchers’ Family Farm, which aired on October 19, showed the family come to terms with the aftermath of a devastating fire at their farmhouse, forcing the family to live elsewhere.

Then during an episode aired on November 2, Kelvin and Liz were seen being told by a vet that one of their beloved cows had suffered a miscarriage.

It was a bittersweet moment for the couple, as they also discovered that their other cow was pregnant. Speaking of Ruby, the vet said: “Strangely, she actually seems to have a uterus infection, which is most likely, she has been pregnant and she had a miscarriage.”

“Oh no,” Liz emotionally replied, as the vet went on: “So we’re gonna have to give her an injection to clear that out. The longer you leave it untreated, the higher the chance of them not getting in calf, basically.”
