BATON ROUGE — After a trip to Tuscaloosa ended in blowout fashion, LSU football returns to the comforts of Baton Rouge and Tiger Stadium for its next two weeks of play.
On the tab this week for the Tigers (5-4, 2-4 SEC) is an early bird matchup against Arkansas, a team also itching to get back into the win column in Week 12. This Southeastern Conference showdown comes on the heels of LSU football’s season-low showing against No. 4 Alabama where its offense was held to just nine points.
Both LSU quarterbacks who saw action against the Crimson Tide were held touchdownless with Garrett Nussmeier throwing for 121 yards in about three quarters of play. Nussmeier’s backup, Michael Van Buren Jr. couldn’t spark enough offense for the Tigers either in his quarter of play, throwing for just 52 yards. LSU’s lingering question marks on offense will looked to be answered this week as it aims to secure bowl eligibility against the Razorbacks.

Arkansas (2-7, 0-5) has had a rough go in SEC play this season with it currently on a seven-game losing streak. The Razorbacks lost another heartbreaker last week against Mississippi State, dropping the game 38-35. Close losses have kind of been the theme for them this season, depsite having Taylen Green at the helm of their offense. Green has thrown for over 2,000 yards so far this season but is hoping those stats can led to wins at some point this season.

After weeks of struggling offensively, LSU will come out hot and explosive on offense against the Razorbacks. With both Nussmeier and Van Buren sharing duties at the helm of the offense, the Tigers should have their way. Defensively, the Tigers will have to bottle up Arkansas’ elite passer, Green, but it shouldn’t be too tall of a task for them. LSU 35, Arkansas 24
