It’s yet another weekend, and movie buffs can look forward to watching some of the latest releases that have finally arrived on OTT platforms. Here’s a list of films to make your binge-watching experience better.
Coupling (Malayalam)
Sarjano Khalid and Vyshnavi Raj lead Coupling, a series that follows a young man still nursing a breakup when his ex unexpectedly hires him to shoot her wedding. Caught between lingering hurt and professional obligation, he begins to connect with someone new, someone carrying her own quiet baggage. What unfolds is a tangle of contemporary urban relationships told through a four-sided, emotionally textured love story.
Streaming on Manorama Max from November 14.
Avihitham (Malayalam)
Set in the northern districts of Kerala, Avihitham opens with a man accidentally witnessing what he believes to be an illicit relationship between his neighbours. He shares his version of events with a friend, and that single rumour balloons into a chain of whispers that soon engulfs the entire community. The fallout is chaotic, but written with such sharp humour that it feels absurd and painfully familiar at the same time. Co-written by Hegde and Ambareesh Kalathara, the film transforms what could have been a heavy drama about infidelity into a witty social satire on small-town nosiness and the moral judgments that follow.
Streaming on JioHotstar from November 14.
Dude (Tamil)
Keerthiswaran’s ‘Dude’ brings Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju together in a coming-of-age romance that centres on the tangled bond between Agan and his cousin Kural. The film wastes no time diving into their world. In the first thirty minutes alone, it races through the major beats — the introductions, a budding triangle, the inevitable heartbreak, and even a sudden musical stretch — all delivered with a pace that’s lively, though occasionally a little too hurried.
Streaming on Netflix from November 14.
Jurassic World Rebirth (English)
Jurassic World Rebirth picks up the franchise after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), but stands firmly on its own. This time, the story follows Zora Bennett and a team of elite research operatives as they venture into one of the planet’s most dangerous frontiers, hunting for de-extinct species whose DNA could hold the key to critical medical breakthroughs. The sci-fi adventure brings together a star cast led by Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali.
Streaming on JioHotstar from November 14.
